WORK OF A POET
The work of a poet is to absorb what happens.
Digest it.
Create with words the impact.
What happened may or may not be recognizable.
The task is to take the piece of life that happened
Convert it into language that others can comprehend
With as little interference as possible.
A Friend Brings Hope
A chickadee flies into our hearts.
Moving through the air we breathe.
The sun brightens.
The wind supports.
Food is energy dancing.
Somehow life is lighter.
We say thank you.
It is not enough.
The chickadee flies on.
We take up our cross.
Somehow life is lighter.
